Filter Papers Filtration Principle

Each analyst needs filter paper, which is a product with high consumption in the laboratory. Filter paper is commonly used in analytical laboratories as a filter medium to separate the solution from the solid.

Basic introduction
The paper is loose and has strong absorption performance to liquid. Customers can choose different levels of hardness, purity, loading capacity, flow rate, and chemical resistance according to their needs.

Operating principle
Filter fiber has a strong affinity to water, but the affinity of organic solvents is very weak. So filtering substance with the combined water of filter fiber is as the stationary phase, with organic solvent as mobile phase. When the mobile phase passes through the sample along with the filter paper, solutes in the sample point are continuously distributed between water and organic phases.

Part of the sample moved with the mobile phase into the solute-free zone, and part of the solute from the mobile phase into the fixed phase (water phase). This property permits liquid and solid substances mixed together to separate.
