Connecting Links

Chain Connecting Link, in other names like, double ring buckle, butterfly buckle and connecting ring, is mainly used to connect the chain, lifting ring and hooks in chain rigging. It is widely used in metallurgy, steel, electric power, port and other industries. Made by alloy steel or stainless steel, connecting links are normally used with grade 8/grade 10 lifting chains or stainless steel chains to make one leg or multiple legs chain sling. In some special occasions, the connecting links are also used to connect two pieces chain together to get a longer distance.

Following steps below to assemble the Connecting Link,:

Step 1: Take a new piece of connecting chain. Visual check and be sure it's in good condition for service. Take off the pin to separate the link as two parts.

Step 2: Put the chain link in one half link and the chain hooks or rings or other end fittings into the other half link, then cross the clevis head.

Step 3: Put the sleeve in the middle and insert the pin through the holes on clevis end and the pin sleeve.

Step 4: Drive the pin end with a soft hammer until the pin end is flush with the outside of the connecting link to get the pin locked tight.
