The WideMist ultrasonic nozzle is an ultrasonic atomizing nozzle which could spray a large area. The nozzle is based on ultrasonic atomization technology. It has a special air flow channel design to uniformly distribute the carrier gas, and the liquid mist atomized by ultrasonic power is sprayed in a fan-shape, thereby enlarge the spray width. Due to the large width of the WideMist ultrasonic spray nozzle, it is mainly suitable for spray coating applications on medium and large-area. It is complementary to the Siansonic FocusMist ultrasonic mist nozzle and can be applied to almost all substrates with different sizes.
One of typical applications is membrane electrode coatings for proton exchange membrane fuel cell. The catalyst (such as a platinum carbon catalyst) suspension is atomized and sprayed onto a proton exchange membrane to form a uniform catalyst coating. Another important advantage of the WideMist ultrasonic spray nozzle is that it can be combined in multiple sets to achieve a larger spray width. In theory, the number of ultrasonic spray nozzles can be continuously increased to achieve a spray range of any width. An array of 30 WideMist ultrasonic nozzles can achieve a spray width up to 3-4 meters. The array of nozzles composed of multiple sets of WideMist ultrasonic nozzles can be applied to coating process for large-area substrate such as glass, non-woven fabrics, textile, metal plastic sheets, etc. For example, functional coatings on glass such as AR anti-reflective coating, thermal insulation coatings, hydrophobic coating, etc.
