The edge bands used in panel furniture are generally divided into three types: the most conventional PVC edge bands, ABS edge bands, and melamine edge bands. The quality of ABS edge banding is the best, but the price is the highest among the three, while the overall quality of melamine edge banding is good, but the product is relatively fragile. Therefore, PVC edge banding is the most used woodworking adhesive by furniture manufacturers. PVC edge banding has strong stability, and the price is also advantageous compared to the other two.

The shape of the hot-melt edge banding glue is granular, and the color is divided into two types: beige and pure white. From the temperature comparison, bulk hot melt adhesive is mainly divided into three kinds: low temperature hot melt adhesive and high temperature hot glue sticks. In general, high temperature hot melt adhesive is the strongest, followed by medium and low temperature.

In order to improve the edge banding efficiency of their products, most manufacturers now use fully automatic linear edge banding machines. This type of edge banding machine uses high-temperature hot melt adhesives. The softening point is generally 90℃-120℃. The operating temperature of the machine: 180°C-210°C.

When the manufacturer uses it, it must be based on the actual conditions of the glue and the weather to make the glue reach the specified operating temperature to ensure that it can penetrate into the substrate well and achieve the desired bonding strength.
