BED Bed Casting are rough machined before being hardened & precision ground. The bed casting are close grained. The bed casting are close grained gray iron with a percentage of alloying elements. The bed is heavily web bed and cross based to prevent any deflection. The inverted 'V' Type slide ways are meant to retain accurate travel of the carriage and tail stock.
