Planetary screw extruder

The extrusion system can be separate for two sections. First section is normal screw (scr ew diameter equal to barrel inter diameter), and second section is planetary screw which general contains 7~ 18 pieces small screws and a main screw in the centre, the number of small screws depend on the screw diameter and application. These small scre ws is intermeshing with main screw and interior screw in the barrel inner wall.

The characteristics of planetary compared with normal screw:

1.No dead angle in the flow channel, have good self-cleaning performance. It's better for processing Rigid PVC.

2.As there are many small screws, the screw intermeshing frequency is higher, this function is proportional to the screw rotate speed, so it can largely increase the times of kneading, extrusion, cutting and mixing.

3.Basis on the same extrusion output, the materials is shorter stay in the planetary scre w extruder.

4.Energy saving.

The planetary screw barrel is mainly used for heat sensitive materials, such as processing rigid PVC. In the calender production line of PVC transparent chip, adopt planetary screw barrel to plastify and mixing raw materials for calender. It can make all melting materials, accessory ingredient and modifier uniformly mixing and dispersing.
