TAMRA azide is a red fluorescent probe compatible with mercury arc, tungsten and xenon arc lamps, the 544 nm line of He-Ne lasers, and the 532 nm green laser line, excitation sources. It is primarily used for the detection of terminal alkyne-labeled biomolecules via the copper-catalyzed click reaction (CuAAC). It also reacts with strained cyclooctynes to form stable triazoles via a copper-free “click chemistry” reaction and does not require copper catalysts or high temperatures.
