The solar charge controller will automatically turn off the LED at dawn while the solar panel voltage rise to 5V, by the time only a little sunlight by early morning. With enough sunshine, the solar panel will keep charging the battery and store the power. Normally, the system is 12V or 24V. After charging, the solar panel voltage will go up to 18V to charge the 12V battery, 36V to charge the 24V battery. The solar charge controller will also prevent the overcharge to protect the battery. The solar panel will stop charging when sunlight is not enough by then the voltage will drop under 5V.
