Automated warehouse rack

Automated warehouse rack is an entire new idea and storage revolution. It has the advantages of both drive-in rack and live rack. FIFO, LIFO can be easily reached.

Comparing with drive-in rack

1) it can also come true both FIFO and FILO; drive in rack can only perform FILO

2) the operator only drive forklift at the gate of racking lane; using drive in rack, the operator must drive the forklift into the racking lane, which obviously increase workloads and reduce working efficiency

3) the electric trolley will do the remaining access work for the operator and thus enhance pallets turnover efficiency

Comparing wth pallet flow rack

1) radio shuttle rack is less than $60 per pallet position; pallet flow rack is generally $160 , which is the highest density storage style but is too expensive to invest

2) radio shuttle rack can fulfill the same storage density with pallet flow rack; however, pallet flow rack only can reach FIFO

The shuttle concept:

A shuttle system consist of supporting rack, shuttle rails and shuttle cart. The shuttle cart runs on the rails and is propelled by an electric motor. I also has a platform on the top that can lift up and down. The lifting action is required to lift a pallet that is placed on the rail and then the electric motor moves the cart with the pallet on top into the rack in order to deposit the pallet in it right position

When the pallet is required, the cart moves in under the pallet, lifts it and brings it to the fromt of the rack where is can be retrieved by a forklift.

All the movements of the shuttle cart are controlled with a hand held remote control. The shuttle cart is placed in the desired lane with a forklift.
