Lidocaine

Lidocaine is a local anesthetic and antiarrhythmic drug. It is a derivative of cocaine, but it does not have the hallucinations and addictive components of cocaine. Lidocaine hydrochloride is a white crystalline powder that is very slightly soluble in water. Its toxicity is comparable to that of procaine, but its local anesthetic effect is stronger and more lasting, and it has good surface . It can be injected or used as a surface anesthetic.
