Procaine hydrochloride

Procaine hydrochloride is a local anesthetic that can temporarily block the conduction of nerve fibers and has an anesthetic effect. It has a strong effect, low toxicity, and is non-addictive. However, it has weak into the skin and mucous membranes and is not suitable for surface anesthesia. It is mainly used clinically for infiltration, spinal and conduction anesthesia. The aqueous solution of this product is relatively stable between pH 3.0 and 5.0. Therefore, when preparing procaine hydrochloride injection chemicalbook solution, it is generally necessary to add acid to adjust the pH to between 3.3 and 5.5, and strictly control the sterilization temperature and time. It is advisable to sterilize with 100°C circulating steam for 30 minutes, and attention should be paid to shading and airtight storage. The aromatic amino group in the structure of this product generates a diazonium salt with sodium nitrite in dilute hydrochloric acid, and a coupling reaction occurs with alkaline β-naphthol to generate a scarlet azo compound.
