What is Sheet metal bending process?

The bending, or press brake forming or folding, is a forming process in which the plastic deformation happens over an axis. Bending does not normally change the thickness of the sheet metal.

Punches and dies press brakes are used to perform this process. A die can be a lower V- or U-shaped tool. The plate is pressed into the die to made a bending part.

How to control sheet metal bending tolerances?

In the process of u bend sheet metal, tolerances are inevitable. Tolerances within a certain range are allowed.

Our tolerances are less than 5.0 for sheets of ±0.1 and 5.0 or more for ±0.3. And those over the range should be caused by improper operation. What we need to do is to control the tolerance to the smallest possible range.

Therefore, when cutting the material, it is necessary to ensure that the tolerance of the plate shearer can be controlled. In addition, shear plates and CNC machining also play a significant role in sheet metal processing.
