Triethylchlorosilane

SiSiB® PC5620 is a clear, colourless to yellowish, pungent smelling, caustic and flammable liquid. It can be dissolved in non-protonating solvents without decomposition.

Application

SiSiB® PC5620 organofunctional silanes may used as silylating agent for dervatization of primary and secondary s etc.

The hydrolytic stability of the trimethylsilyl-protected s lies between that of methyldiisopropylsilyl- and trimethylsilyl-protected s in acid and base. The selective oxidation of the triethylsilyl-protected s in the presence of tert-butyldimethylsilyl-protected has been shown. The deprotection of silyl ethers has been reviewed as has the oxidation of silyl ethers.

SiSiB® PC5620 may be used to protect allylic esters as silylketene acetal. It is more stable but less volatile derivates than trimethylchlorosilane.

Packing and Storage

SiSiB® PC5620 chlorosilane is supplied in 180Kg steel drum.

In the unopened original container SiSiB® PC5620 has a shelf life of one year in a dry and cool place.
