Different Cycle Life

In terms of the cycle life, the lead acid and lithium ion batteries has a great advantage. While the 100%DOD cycle time of the normal lead-acid accumulator cell is around 400-600 times, the cycle time of lithium battery with ternary can reach 1000 times and the cycle time of lithium battery with lithium iron phosphate can reach 2000-5000 times;

Energy Density

Lithium battery has a high energy ratio. With the same energy storage, the volume of the lithium battery is only half of the lead-acid one and the weight of the lithium cell is only 40% of the weight of lead-acid;

Security

The safety performance of the lead-acid battery is good. Thus, it is easy to use lead-acid cells. Whereas, the protection circuit or battery management system is needed for the lithium battery, so as to prevent the situation of over-heating from happening;

Cost Differences

Compared with the lithium-ion battery pack, lead-acid cells have relatively low raw material costs and simple manufacturing costs. The cost per watt-hour is currently about half of that of a lithium battery. As the market develops, this cost gap may narrow;
